About EBSCOHost

EBSCO

The Stanislaus State library subscribes to selected resources from EBSCOHost, an online library service provider.

The library's EBSCO access includes 48 databases which provide access to the full-text of 9 million peer reviewed articles, 7 million articles from magazines / popular publications, and 50,000 ebooks. EBSCO databases also search and display records for 25 million additional peer-reviewed articles, which you can access using the "Search for full text" button.

Access to Library Content - on EBSCO and other services

The library's EBSCO subscriptions includes 48 databases with access to millions of articles and thousands of e-books.  The library does not subscribe to every resource available from EBSCO.  Many of the library's online resources are available through other providers, like ProQuest, JSTOR, Elseiver ScienceDirect, etc

Use EBSCO to:

  • Search for articles in key journals covering most disciplines.
  • Use a user-friendly interface with sophisticated search tools.
  • If the article is not full-text in EBSCO, look for the Search for full-text button to link to articles available in other library services.

Use OneSearch to:

  • To search for books and e-books available from Stan State.
  • To search for articles from all disciplines and publishers available via Stan State.
  • OneSearch results will often link to the full-text available online, sometimes from EBSCO, other times from other library service providers.

Use a discipline-specific database to:

  • Conduct a comprehensive search within journals from a specific discipline (whether Stan State owns the journal or not).
  • Different discipline-specific databases are available from EBSCO, ProQuest, and other providers.
