The Library's Circulation Front Desk is the place to go for help with borrowing library materials such as books, videos, course reserves, and materials checked out through CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan. In addition to checking out library materials, we also have laptops available for student use while on campus. For questions or further information, please call 209-667-3234 or visit us during regular library hours.
Visit our page on borrowing privileges for more information.
Visit Stockton Campus Library (SCL) page for SCL circulation services.
Rental textbooks from the campus Bookstore should be returned to the Bookstore, not the Library book drops.
You may return library books, DVD & CD disks (check-outs from Stan State Library, through CSU+ & Interlibrary Loan) in-person or to the two book drops on the Turlock campus. The book drops are located by the Reflecting Pond and between Bizzini Hall and the Library building. You may also return library materials to the Stockton campus book drop in front of Acacia Court.
Library fines occur when library materials are returned or renewed after the due date. Library loans overdue for 60 days or more are assumed to be lost and your account will be billed for the replacement cost plus a service charge. At this time a hold is also placed on grades, transcripts and registration. Please notify Library Circulation if your address or phone number has changed. This will help us reach you promptly when we need to contact you.
If you feel you have received an overdue notice in error or have any questions about your library account, please call the Circulation Desk at 209-667-3234.
To avoid the hassle of fines and billing, remember to return borrowed items promptly. You can also check to see if items can be renewed.
If you wish to file an appeal for your library fines, fill out the Application for Fine Appeal form (PDF). You may submit this form in person at the Library Circulation Desk or by email to FinesAppeal@Library.csustan.edu.
Library fines are paid in person at the Cashier’s Office (MSR 100) and require a fine slip from the library’s Circulation Desk. Please be aware of both the Cashier’s Office and library’s hours of operation, as well as acceptable forms of payment.
Some materials borrowed from the University Library collection can be renewed online using your personal Library Catalog account.
Note: Be sure to check the due dates after renewing to make sure the titles have been correctly renewed.
CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan items may not be renewed and need be returned on or before their due date.
Please see the ILL FAQ or contact the ILL department by phone 209-667-3236 or email at ill@library.csustan.edu for questions.
