Computer Labs and Word Processing: Computer workstations in the Library Annex can be found in Library Annex (LX) 10 & 26 which offer the same software found in other computer labs operated by the Office of Information Technology. Computer labs, offering e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet and other computer applications (PDF), are located throughout campus and are available to currently registered students, faculty and staff.
Laptops: Current CSU Stanislaus students may borrow a laptop from the Circulation Desk in Library Annex 25. Laptops check out for up to four hours (and must be returned at least 30 minutes before the Library closes). Power cords are also available.
Printing, downloading and e-mail: Printing, downloading and sending records and search results via e-mail is available for most databases, including the Library Catalog OneSearch. All Library PCs allow downloading to a USB drive (also known as flash, key or USB flash drives). Basic printing is ten cents per page and using funds from an OIT Print Accounts.
Library Catalog lookup stations: Library Catalog search stations are located in Library Annex (LX) 25.
Computer Facilities for Users with Special Needs: The Library works with students to accommodate special needs. Please consult a Reference Librarian at 209-667-6558 if you have needs that go beyond existing equipment and/or software.
Wireless Access: Wireless access is provided on the CSU Stanislaus campus (including within the University Library) by the Office of Information Technology. Affiliated users should logon using their campus ID and password, while guest access is available upon submission of an email address. For wireless access information, see the OIT page, Wireless Network Access Information.
Remote Access: From locations on campus, users will automatically be able to access Web-based Library resources. CSU Stanislaus-affiliated users (currently registered students, faculty and staff members) can also take advantage of the Library's proxy service to be authenticated to access licensed (i.e. restricted) Library resources from locations away from campus. No set-up or configuring of browsers is necessary: the proxy service will prompt you for input when you attempt to access a restricted resource. For questions about access or assistance searching databases and other electronic resources, please contact the Library Reference Desk at 209-667-6558.
For assistance using the Library's computers, please consult the circulation staff or call the Circulation desk at 209-667-3233.
