The Library's Circulation Desk is the place to go for help with borrowing library materials such as books, videos, course reserves, and materials checked out through CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan items. In addition to checking out library materials, we also have laptops available for student use while on campus. Located in Library Annex (LX) 25, the Circulation Desk now issues all University Warrior cards. For questions or further information, please call 209-667-3234 during regular library hours or simply stop by to see us.
Visit our page on borrowing privileges for more information.
Library fines occur when library materials are returned or renewed after the due date. Library loans overdue for 60 days or more are assumed to be lost and your account will be billed for the replacement cost plus a service charge. At this time a hold is also placed on grades, transcripts and registration. Please notify Library Circulation if your address or phone number has changed. This will help us reach you promptly when we need to contact you.
If you feel you have received an overdue notice in error or have any questions about your library account, please call the Circulation Desk at 209-667-3234.
To avoid the hassle of fines and billing, remember to return borrowed items promptly. You can also check to see if items can be renewed.
If you wish to file an appeal for your library fines, fill out the Application for Fine Appeal form. You may submit this form in person at the Library Circulation Desk or by email to FinesAppeal@Library.csustan.edu.
Charges can be paid either via CASHNet (students only via myCSUSTAN) or at the Cashier's Office in the Mary Stuart Rogers Building (MSR 100). If you have questions about your account you may contact the Library Circulation Department during regular business hours in person or by calling 209-667-3234.
Most books, theses and videos borrowed from the University Library collection can be renewed online using your personal Library Catalog account.
Note: Be sure to check the due dates after renewing to make sure the titles have been correctly renewed.
Please visit or call the Circulation Desk 209-667-3234 for any questions related to renewing University Library materials.
Some books borrowed from another library via Interlibrary Loan may be renewed, at the discretion of the lending library. Use the ILLiad system to request a renewal. Photocopies of journal articles do not need to be returned.
Please see the ILL FAQ or contact the ILL department by phone 209-667-3236 or email at ill@library.csustan.edu for any questions related to renewing materials borrowed via Interlibrary Loan.
Try CSU+:
If a CSU Stanislaus Library book is already checked out, it may be available for request via the CSU+ system.
For Faculty:
If the book or periodical you are looking for is already checked out and not available via CSU+, you can request that the item be recalled.
To initiate a recall, bring the call number and/or title of the item to the Library's Circulation Desk and request that the item be recalled for you.
When the recalled item is available, you will be notified by phone. Recalled items are placed "on hold" at the Circulation Desk where you can go to pick them up when notified of their availability. Student ID/Library card is required for all library transactions.
