The header is the top part of your website. Usually in the header you will find the website name along with the menu navigation of the website.
Header Title / Site Name
Add a header title. The header title is your site name. This name will appear on all of your pages.
- Google sites adds your site name to your URL address once you publish your site.
Header Type
Select whether you want your header to be a banner, long banner, full cover, or if you would only like a title.
Tip: A header that covers the entire website is great for marketing, but can be distracting for users wanting to find information on your site.

- Select: You can select an image that is free to use in stored in Google's gallery of images (Figure 3).
- Upload: You can upload an image saved in your computer/drive.

Anchor Image
The anchor image tool allows you to reposition your image inside the section/box that it is in.
Readability Adjustment
For accessibility reasons, Google will readjust your image so that your text stands out against the image and is accessible visually to all users.
