Searching by Legal Citation is often more exact in retrieving a court opinion or statute when searching Westlaw.
- Choose Advanced Search (next to the search button on right of screen).
- On the Advanced Search screen, scroll down to citation.

Once in the Advanced Search page, scroll down to "Citation" box and enter or copy/paste your citation.
Tips:
- Be sure to select the correct jurisdiction. (federal, specific state, etc.)
- For section symbols:
- You can copy and paste the section symbol (§), type the letter "s" instead, or skip it
