Open Access Publishing Agreements

This is an academic guide introducing the state of open access journal publishing for Stanislaus State authors.

OUP / Oxford University Press - Read and Publish Agreement

Background

The CSU system has signed an agreement with Oxford University Press Journals which covers the cost of making articles Stanislaus State authors available freely to all ("Open Access").   Eligible corresponding authors do not have to pay an article publishing charge (APC) to make their article "Open Access."   This is part of a joint Oxford agreement with participating CSU libraries, the University of California System, and many private academic libraries in California, and is in effect for the next four years (through 12/31/2028).

Instructions for Authors:

  • Once your article has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, you will be prompted to finish the process via their SciPris system.
  • SciPris checks your institutional affiliation and article type to determine your eligibility for Read & Publish funding.
  • For hybrid journals, be sure to select an open access license.
  • If the SciPris system does not identify your eligibility for a Read and Publish agreement, contact SciPris customer support.
  • See the OUP Read & Publish Author Guide for more detailed instructions.
