Interlibrary Loan/CSU+ obtains materials not owned by our library, retrieving CSU campuses (CSU+) and from an international partnership of libraries.
Currently registered CSU Stanislaus students, faculty, and staff may use ILL services.
Materials available include books, journal and newspaper articles, theses, dissertations, government documents, reports, videos, DVD’s, and music scores.
Current textbooks are not eligible for Interlibrary Loan, but may be requested through CSU+. If you are unable to purchase a required text, please speak to your instructor about the possibility of placing a copy on Reserve in the Library.
Interlibrary Loan requests may be submitted via the OneSearch Interlibrary Loan request form. For items not owned by CSU Stanislaus, most OneSearch and FInd It! links will display a "Get a copy" option to submit a request for ILL.
There is no charge to you for ILL services. All costs are absorbed by the library, except fines for overdue materials ($1.00 per day). Replacement costs may be charged for lost or damaged materials. The library will consult with requesters regarding the need for specific materials if access or copyright fees are unusually high.
The average time for a book (and other physical items) to arrive is three to five working days. PDFs of articles often arrive in one to three working days. Books shipped from out of state may take longer.
A message will be sent to your campus email when books or articles arrive and are available.
LOANS: ILL materials are held at the Circulation Desk in Turlock or the Stockton Campus Library.
ARTICLES: Most copies of articles, chapters, etc. will be delivered electronically to your OneSearch account.
CSU+ books received from other CSU campuses are checked out for 112 days. CSU+ books cannot be renewed.
Books from outside of CSU+ will have a loan period set by the lending library. They sometimes may be renewed at the discretion of the lending library. If an item is non-renewable, this is noted on the book band.
If Interlibrary Loan is unable to obtain the book or article requested, you will receive a cancellation notice via email, stating the reason. Librarians are available to assist in locating research materials.
Patrons should cancel items no longer needed via their OneSearch ILLiad account.
