Library Exhibits

Exhibit Guidelines and Procedures

The Library Exhibits Program promotes Library collections, programming, and events. Currently the second-floor exhibits are managed by the Academic Success Center, the Learning Commons, and the Warrior Cross Cultural Center, with each of these departments having one designated exhibit case.

The third-floor exhibit cases are managed by Special Collections and University Archives.

In exceptional instances, non-Library exhibits may be considered. Contact Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) for more information, at SpecialCollections@library.csustan.edu.

Exhibit Guidelines

The following general guidelines apply to all exhibits held within the library:

  • Exhibit managers must request opening and closing the exhibit cases by submitting a work order to Facilities Services. Facilities Services will request the keys to the cases from Special Collections and University Archives. Note that charges incurred for work orders will be charged to the requesting Department and not the Library.*
  • The use of copyrighted works (such as photos, songs, other graphics, etc.) without the creator’s permission is prohibited. If you are unsure if a work is copyrighted, or are concerned about such works in an exhibit, please contact SpecialCollections@library.csustan.edu for more information on copyright compliance.
  • The Library does not participate in commercial sales. No prices will be displayed with items. The Library will, however, make the exhibitor’s name and contact information available to the public upon request.
  • Exhibits should remain no longer than one semester/session in a case.

*Keys for authorized exhibitors will be procured by Facilities Services from SCUA.

The Library will attempt to promote Library exhibits via the Library’s Outreach Librarian and other forms of promotion.

These channels include, but are not limited to: Instagram, the Library’s website, print-posters and fliers, as well as digital signage displayed throughout the Library building.
