Library Services for the Community
We welcome you to the California State University, Stanislaus Library. The Library is open to the general public and provides reference assistance, access to government information, and use of resources in the library, including access to electronic resources.
We also offer remote online access to our catalog, government information, and our open access databases: Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database, Anthropological Index Online, Britannica Online, MuSICA Database, National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information: Library Search, National Substance Abuse Web Index, National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts Database, PILOTS Database, Population Index, and PubMed/National Library of Medicine Gateway.
Non-CSU Stanislaus users who purchase a Community Borrower's card ($35.00 annual fee) can also check out items from the regular circulating collections (books, periodicals, CDs and videos but not Reserve items) according to the guidelines listed here.
General Public, including students at private colleges: $35.00 annual fee for borrowing privileges.
HECCC (Higher Education Consortium of Central California, including Columbia College, Merced College, Modesto Junior College, and San Joaquin Delta College) Affiliated Students and Faculty: To obtain borrowing privileges, currently registered students and faculty from HECCC institutions need a CSUS ID card to borrow materials. A $5.00 materials fee is required to prepare an ID card.
High School Students: To obtain borrowing privileges, high school students must present a completed High School Student Application for Library Borrowing Privileges and pay a $15.00 fee per semester. The application requires the signatures of the High School librarian or library staff member and a librarian or staff member from the student's nearest public library.
