Services for Graduate Students
Research Assistance: Research assistance is always available on a drop-in basis at the Library Reference Desk. During Fall and Spring terms, the Reference Desk is normally staffed 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday , and 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Students can also make appointments with one of the reference librarians for more in-depth help with their research. Appointment forms are available at the reference desk. Appointments can also be made via phone by calling 667-3233 and asking for the reference desk. (See also theses below.)
Borrowing Privileges: Books are checked out to CSU Stanislaus graduate students for the semester; periodicals are checked out for 14 days.

Renewing Library Materials: In most cases materials borrowed from the library can be renewed online. (See the online renewals page for more information.)
Interlibrary Loan: Most materials which aren't owned by the Library can be obtained through interlibrary loan from other libraries, a service provided to you at no cost by the University Library. The average time for a request to arrive is five to seven working days. Articles often arrive in three to five working days. Books mailed from out of state may take longer Lending periods are determined by the lending libraries. Use the Library's online forms for requesting materials through interlibrary loan.
Remote Access from Your Home or Office: From locations on campus, you will automatically be able to access Web-based Library resources. Currently registered CSU Stanislaus students with a valid ID can access licensed (i.e. restricted) online Library resources from any computer connected to the World Wide Web (including off-campus locations). For questions about access or assistance searching databases or other electronic resources, please contact the Library Reference Desk (telephone 667-3233).
Guides: The library has several guides to help you with the thesis research and writing process. Most of these publications are shelved together in the general collection under the call number LB2369. For a more thorough list, seach OLLI E (the Library's Catalog) for the SUBJECT: Dissertations, Academic--Handbooks, manuals, etc.
Literature Searching and Citation Style: Reference Librarians are available to assist graduate students with literature searches and style manual usage. Examples of citations for common publication types are also available.
Readers and Printing: The Graduate School coordinates some of the thesis reader and printing services via the University Library. See the CSU Stanislaus Theses/Project Guidelines, available from the Graduate School, for more information.
