Research Skills Instruction

A wealth of online and print resources make research complex.  Therefore, librarians are becoming more involved in teaching students, staff, and faculty how to access sources, develop successful research strategies, and evaluate information.

As always, drop by the reference desk in the library or contact a librarian for personalized instruction.  For more information about the library instruction program, contact Tim Held   (theld@csustan.edu, 664-6555).

Course-integrated Instruction (requested by instructor)

Note: To ensure the library instruction computer lab and a librarian are available, please schedule well in advance.

A tailored research skills session can help your students learn how to locate books and journal articles, evaluate Internet sources, and start their research under a librarian's guideance.  These sessions supplement the online guides and in-person instruction at the library, and they are tailored to students' needs for a particular assignment.  If you are ready to schedule a library session for your students, fill out this form.
