Materials not available in the library's online or print collections can often be requested via Interlibrary Loan. There is no charge to CSU Stanislaus users for this service and books are usually available to be picked up in the University Library 4-7 working days after an Interlibray Loan request is submitted.
If an item is not available online or in the library, the Find It! menu should link to Interlibrary Loan and enter the citation information into the request form. (Requests can also be entered manually via the Interlibrary Loan web page.)
How to submit an Interlibrary Loan article request via a Find It! menu:
1) Access the Find It! menu for your item.
Find a citation for your article from an appropriate library database (like the WorldCat) and look for the or Check availability links . (Instead, you can also use the Find a Specific Citation service to look-up a known citation.)
2) Click "Request a copy of this item"
This option only appears for items not available online or in the library's print collection.
The first time you use the ILLiad request system you'll be prompted to register for a free ILLiad account.
(How do I register for Interlibrary Loan?)
3) Submit Request
The information from the desired article should display in a request form. Check the information and scroll down to submit the request.
First time users: If the publication information is not already in the request form, simply close the ILLiad window and on the Find It! screen click "Request a copy link" again.
4) You’ll be sent an email when the article is available.
Books requested via Interlibrary Loan are usually available in 3-7 working days.
