Borrowing Privileges

 CSUS Students | CSUS Faculty & Staff | Community Borrowers  |  High School  | Community Colleges                  

Current CSU Stanislaus Students

Undergrads The loan period for books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days, depending on the item.  Currently enrolled students are entitled to interlibrary loan services and access library resources from home.  Student ID/Library card is required for all transactions.
Grad Students Can borrow books for a semester.  Circulating copies of CSU Stanislaus theses can be checked out for 14 days with one renewal.  The loan period for periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days, depending on the item.  Currently enrolled grad students are entitled to interlibrary loan services and can access library resources from home.  Student ID/Library card is required for all transactions.

 

CSU Stanislaus Faculty & Staff

 

Faculty Can borrow books for up to one year.  The loan period for periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days.  CSU Stanislaus faculty are entitled to interlibrary loan services and can access the Library's electronic resources from their offices or from home.  Campus ID/Library card is required for all transactions.
Staff

The loan period for books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days.   Staff are entitled to interlibrary loan services and can access the Library's electronic resources from their offices or from home.  Campus ID/Library card is required for all transactions.

 

 

Community Borrowers 

 

Defined Individuals not currently associated with the University or any of our consortial educational institutions but who want to be able to check out materials from the University Library; annual fee for Community Borrower status is $35.00
Privileges Can borrow books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers.  The loan period for these items ranges from 2 hours to 28 days.  Community borrowers can check out up to 5 items at one time.  Services not available to community borrowers include interlibrary loans and access to the Library's electronic resources from locations outside the Library.  Library card is required for all transactions.

 

 

Community Colleges

 

HECCC Students Students attending one of the HECCC (Higher Education Consortium of Central California, including Columbia College, Merced College, Modesto Junior College, and San Joaquin Delta College) institutions are entitled to library privileges at CSU Stanislaus. For a materials fee of $5.00, HECC students may obtain a CSU Stanislaus Library card and borrow materials from the library.
Privileges The loan period for books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days, depending on the item.   Community college students can check out up to 5 items at one time.  Services not available to community college students include interlibrary loans and access to the Library's electronic resources from locations outside the Library.  Instead, students should check with their home institution's library to learn how they can obtain these services.  Library card is required for all transactions.

 

 

High School Students

 

Requirements High school students can request borrowing privileges at the University Library by submitting a completed High School Student Application for Library Borrowing Privileges. There is a $15.00 fee per semester.
Privileges The loan period for books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videos and newspapers ranges from 2 hours to 28 days, depending on the item.   High school students with borrowing privileges at CSU Stanislaus can check out up to 5 items at one time.  Services not available to high school students include interlibrary loans and access to the Library's electronic resources from locations outside the Library.  Instead, students should check with their home institution's library to learn whether they can obtain these services through that institution.  Library card is required for all transactions.
